Sugar Sweet is the debut release by the beloved New Orleans-based musician, Grandpa Elliott! Grandpa Elliott has endeared himself to the world through his association with the global phenomenon, Playing For Change. His performance in PFC's "Stand By Me" video has been seen by millions on the internet, and his appearance in the PFC full-length feature film, Peace Through Music, has been seen all across the US on PBS.
Album Description
Already a familiar face to the playing for change supporters, grandpa elliot has been a key contributor to the original playing for change album. Now due to his popularity from this release, grandpa elliot has headed to the studio for a solo album. A legendary new orleans street performer whose debut album sugar sweet will be released on the 20th of november, grandpa elliott has been entertaining audiences in the french quarter for over sixty years, but his popularity has gone global in the last year after the playing for change hit viral video for 'stand by me', featuring 37 musicians from all over the world received over 30 million views on sites like youtube and vimeo. Grandpa is the first artist to be signed to playing for change records/concord music group. Another playing for change project which sees some proceeds go to the pfc foundation that build music schools around the world in poverty stricken areas.

Listening to Grandpa Elliott is to be welcomed in out of the cold--to be offered a hand with which to walk into life and love and care. God Bless Grandpa Elliott. We all need a grandparent who loves us and at the same time tells us like it is.

This CD is awesome. At first I really loved just one song, but everytime I listen to it I find something else to enjoy and love. Every song on Sugar Sweet is wonderful. What an messmerising voice Grandpa Elliot has! This man has GOT to put out another CD-- the sooner the better.
