Album Description
". . . in a place where Billie Holiday meets Tom Waits . . . has moments that recall pieces of Nina Simone, early Rickie Lee Jones, and even the sophistication of Cole Porter. " - Business Week Although there are elements of jazz, blues and folk in her music, it is simultaneously all of those things and none of them. Her engaging songs and sultry controlled vocals possess a timeless quality that places them in the tradition of the great female vocalists on Verve, whose work have also not been confined to any one genre or style

Melody Gardot June 1, 2010 N. Mangum (Atl, Ga) If you are into R&B music. You must pick-up Melody's music. It brings a smile to your face after a bad day.
love her voice! May 1, 2010 Cate (Paso Robles, CA) now this....this is music! I love Melody's voice. I listen over and over and over and love this album. I recommend her highly!
Incredible talent April 1, 2010 Bullwinkle (USA) This woman has a voice that has to be heard to be believed. I would rather hear her talk than hear most people sing.
She also writes most of her songs, and some seem destined to become classic jazz songs. She has an amazingly mature song-writing ability for one so young.
Genius is really the only way to describe her level of talent.
Infectious Album March 17, 2010 James D. Webb (Hannibal, Mo. USA) I haven't run into an album that pulled me in so completely from the first listen in
a long time. Her arrangements, not to mention her exquisite voice are without equal in this day and age. I know that she doesn't consider herself a jazz singer but, you could have fooled me. Her melodies are haunting and stick to your ribs. Definitely pick this one up for any occasion.
Gardot March 4, 2010 Pat Zwolinski (Janesville, WI) Im sure I would love this if I had received it... the wrong item was sent and I haven't received the replacement.
