Album Description Willie Nelson goes back to his roots with a songbook of classic Americana. Country Music was recorded in Nashville, TN and produced by T Bone Burnett. Nelson wrote one track on the album, "Man With The Blues" and, with T Bone Burnett, co-arranged three traditional songs, "Satan Your Kingdom Must Come Down," "I Am A Pilgrim," and "Nobody's Fault But Mine." The album also features many popular old-time/bluegrass/folk songs including Ernest Tubb's "Seaman's Blues, Merle Travis' "Dark As A Dungeon," and Doc Watson's "Freight Train Boogie". Willie Nelson collaborated with many musicians on Country Music including old-time banjo master Riley Baugus, double bassist Dennis Crouch, and T Bone himself, all musicians featured on Raising Sand, the 2009 Grammy® award-winning Album of the Year by Robert Plant and Alison Krauss.

Real Country Music July 30, 2010 Annita Lyons (Alabama) I love this CD. I have loved Willie Nelson for many years. He is a real country artist, although his music transcends musical boundaries. His voice is unique, and so is his guitar picking. I can always recognize his guitar playing. These selections are all beautiful and make me emotional. I have listened to it over and over this week, may 9 or 10 times so far.
Willie Plays for the Town Crowd July 29, 2010 brazos bottom sonny The newest Willie Nelson release Country Music hits the mark for listeners, especially those of us now living in town away from the country. He combines a blend of something new and somethng old for those of us who may no longer hit the joints but still like to keep our feet moving and toes tapping.
Willie Holding Serve . . . June 14, 2010 Randy (Florida) 4 out of 5 found this review helpful
This is a very pleasant collection of older country tunes delivered by one of the genre's greatest practitiioners. It sounds great thanks to the stellar-as-usual production by T-Bone Burnette. If you are a big Willie Nelson fan and want to hear him singing some great country songs, then this album is for you. If you are new to Nelson and country music, however, and want an overview of the man or the genre, you should opt instead for REDHEADED STRANGER or a Greatest Hits collection.
A legend in his own time June 12, 2010 Donald V. Dales (Fallbrook, CA USA) Willie Nelson has been a favorite of mine for over twenty years. I can never get tired of his songs or his singing. This CD adds to the list of remarkable songwriting and singing. A must for Willie Nelson lovers.
