Amazon.com essential recording Most critics complain Back in Black, the album AC/DC recorded after the death of their original lead screamer Bon Scott, is ridiculously juvenile, obvious, snickering, bludgeoning, derivative, single-minded about sex and booze, a big cartoon. All true, of course, and--on rock 'n' ragers like "What Do You Do For Money Honey," "You Shook Me All Night Long," and the title track--all great. As Scott's replacement Brian Johnson reminds us, loud and crunchy, no-holds-barred "rock and roll ain't noise pollution...it makes good, good sense." Never trust anyone who refuses to drink domestic beer, laugh at the Three Stooges, or crank Back in Black. --David Cantwell

Pure Dookie June 23, 2010 J. Interlandi (Chicago or Amsterdam) 1 out of 2 found this review helpful
No, of course not the album, which is obviously a classic. The dual-disc is a complete ripoff in relation to its advertising. As an audiophile (wannabe), I bought this version for the "entire album in enhanced LPCM Stereo" on the DVD side. Typically that would be at a much higher sampling rate, better bit depth, or something enhanced. In this case its 48khz, 16 bit PCM, which is basically the same quality as the CD side (more or less, perhaps a slight uptick). They didn't even use that much of the available storage on the DVD side and they gave us this! It's just wrong, wrong, wrong. Poor product design and deceptive advertising. No wonder this version is not a classic with the audiophiles. Who makes these decisions?
BEST ALBUM EVER June 6, 2010 LeeAnn's son 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Listen this is one of the GREATEST ALBUMS EVER and if you are a hard rock/heavy metal fan like me YOU NEED THIS! All the songs are great and each one just is an awesome rock expierience. My favorites are "Back In Black", "Hells Bells", "You Shook Me All Night Long", "Shoot To Thrill", and basically every single song! The guitars are great, the bass is great, the drums are great, the vocals are great! Every thing is great! It is the perfect blend of heavy metal and rock. I just love listening to it. I wouldn't listen to all their bad reviews listen to the 5 star ones. Your taste in music may be different than mine mine, but all in all it is the one of the best albums out there and I may not have listed all the stuff I should have, but I am a kid so if you think I haven't listed enough look at the other 5 star reviews.
great cd--but thought it was dual disc June 6, 2010 Stan B. Chapman (Texas) Classic music, great cd, but I thought this was the dual disc--one side a dvd.
Bonn Scott is the best singer ever! May 29, 2010 Hermy909 II (Arizona) 0 out of 1 found this review helpful
I love what he did with "Highway to Hell". I know he died while making this album, but he still did a really good job writing the songs and album.
My only complaint about ACDC is that the drummer is lazy and should do more double bass and blast beats!
Music is good, dualdisc doesn't May 23, 2010 L. Conrado Barajas Pedraza (Monterrey, NL, Mexico) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I'm very dissappointed with this dualdisc, unfortunately this dualdisc is only a CD side and a DVD-Video side, I thought it would be a DVD-AUDIO side with high resolution audio and it's not, it has standard, compressed, lossy dolby digital audio in 5.1 channels, what's the point?, music is good, im just reviewing this dualdisc edition which doesn't really add any good to the standard CD version which i already have! so it makes this a waste of money.
