David Garrett: Rock Symphonies September 10, 2010 Douglas R Spriggs (GUTHRIE, OKLAHOMA, US) I was watching PBS via OETA (Oklahoma Educational Television Authority) during their August fund raising campaign, and David Garrett's concert from Berlin came on. I had never heard of him, which embarrassed me, quite frankly. His orchestra was 60 strong, performing before a crowd of 18,000 Berliners. I was totally blown away by this man's god-given talent. His rapport with the audience was immediate, infectious, and mesmerizing. Again, immediately I decided I just had to have the CD. My only regret is: the CD does not include his performance of Tommaso Albinoni's "Adagio", which is one of my all-time favorite symphonic pieces ever written, which I never get tired of listening to. As far as I'm concerned, owning a copy of either the DVD or CD is a "must-have", and should be included in your DVD/CD library. Doug Spriggs
Outstanding!!!! September 7, 2010 RetiredMilitaryOfficer (Seattle, WA United States) I absolutely love "Rock Symphonies"!!
He's included everything from Beethoven to Beatles and each one is uniquely distinctive. I listen to this collection constantly, but never while I'm driving the car; the rhythm is so compelling that I would probably hit 100mph in record time!
WOW September 5, 2010 mshedlock (Nanty Glo, PA United States) This album was full of energy and great music. I have a new appreciation for the violin not only as an instrument but as a type of voice as well. Very creative and enjoyable.
Fun Music September 5, 2010 Kara J. VanDine (Maine) I love violin music and this cd is great! It also has a nice pace for exercising too, which is when I listen to it most.
A Great Listen for Rock and Classical Music Lovers Alike September 3, 2010 grandmajanet (Cincinnati, OH) What a unique blend of rock and classical! This is my first David Garrett experience, and you can bet I'll be anxiously awaiting his next effort.
